GEAR DURAN


Gear is a visionary and a wizard of both digital and traditional artistic media. Blending seamlessly both digital illustration to create visual assets to then be rendered in traditional media with the flexibility to adjust production pipeline and workflow dynamically to achieve the end goal.

His Creations lean towards a dark surrealistic graffiti sci-fi approach. Think Tron Meets Dark Cristal and Beat Street then toss in some Blade runner.  Having been exposed to digital art and photoshop back in 1997 he was living in the midst of the dot com boom era surrounded by hackers, musicians pc building pirate radio enthusiasts, and guerilla artists. From there his love of cross-pollinating both digital and traditional media exploded. Now with the era of VR, Gear will use it as a way to rapidly conceptualize in 3D then send that model and object file to a program like Blender and ZBrush for the fine tuning.  He was also a Keynote speaker at CES at Intel’s booth representing Corel corporations release of Painter 2016 and there new physics driven particle brushes.
